In the Tile Adhesive Packaging Industry Every upgrade is driven by our pursuit of quality and optimization of efficiency. Today, we would like to share a packaging upgrade case for a tile adhesive client in South America. Transitioning from traditional PP woven bags to customized kraft paper valve bags, and from inefficient filling to precise dosing, we have helped the client solve pain points, reduce costs and enhance competitiveness through our professional solutions.

The client had long used PP woven bags for packaging 25kg of tile adhesive. While these bags met basic packaging needs, they gradually revealed numerous drawbacks. PP material lacks environmental friendliness and does not align with current green packaging trends. Additionally, its moisture resistance is limited. Since tile adhesive mainly consists of cement and fine aggregates, it easily absorbs moisture from the air and undergoes hydration, resulting in caking and hardening. This not only compromises construction performance but can also lead to entire bags being ruined in severe cases, causing considerable material waste. Furthermore, the traditional packaging has a plain appearance that fails to highlight product quality, inconsistent with the client’s brand upgrading goals.

After understanding the client’s pain points, we promptly provided a customized solution. We selected multiple tile adheisve valve bag samples of different sizes and materials — including white kraft paper and brown kraft paper — for on-site testing, evaluating load-bearing capacity, wear resistance and compatibility based on the characteristics of tile adhesive. Ultimately, considering environmental requirements, product appearance and practicality, the client chose 25kg kraft paper valve bags. Made from pure wood pulp kraft paper with high tensile strength, these bags feature a clean, premium look and are biodegradable and eco-friendly, in line with industry development trends. They also stack neatly and attractively, facilitating storage and transportation.

Given the high moisture resistance requirements of tile adhesive, we also offered professional advice: adding a PE inner liner inside the tile adhesive valve bags to create a dual moisture-proof barrier. This effectively blocks airborne moisture, prevents tile adhesive caking at the source, extends product shelf life and reduces material waste — a detail highly praised by the client.

Alongside packaging upgrades, we identified clear shortcomings in the client’s filling process. Using a semi-automatic mixing and filling machine, workers manually fed raw materials into the mixer, opened the machine valve manually for filling after mixing, and then operated the machine again for sealing. This process was not only inefficient but also led to inconsistent bag weights due to manual errors, affecting production schedules and potentially causing customer complaints over weight discrepancies, which was unsuitable for large-scale production.

To address this issue, we recommended replacing the system with dosing filling equipment specially designed for tile adhesive valve bags. This equipment enables automatic quantitative filling and sealing once bags are full, eliminating repetitive manual operations. After the upgrade, inconsistent weighing was completely resolved, filling efficiency improved significantly, labor costs were greatly reduced, and the tedious secondary sealing process was eliminated. Dust leakage was also minimized, making the production flow smoother and more standardized.
